Live and Learn

Well, today was our second cheer performance, and we did awesome! But the funnest part was going to AppleBees with the team! Christian and Big Mike are soooo much fun to be around! They are just sooo funny and so much fun! You have to love them! Then one of my bff's got engaged... fast, I know, but this of course being BYU-I-do, its no suprise. But the reason that this is titled "live and learn is because I have new pictures of things that I am learning to do while living on my own, with the help of my roommates of course. I'm learning to do dishes, and making cute cakes w/out my cake decor stuff, and change vacuum bags, and make popcorn not in a bag, and burn popcorn, along with many other things! Hope you enjoy!

oh life!

So, this morning I get up, and I think to myself, "man! I feel GREAT!" Then I sat and said, "Man, I feel great. OH NO!" Yup- you guessed it; I slept threw my alarms, all my fault because I hadn't taken my phone off silent from the night before's studying. I totally slept threw my anatomy class... so I ran to get ready for math class. Then I came home, cleaned my apartment and got ready for cheer. So now, I have to study my butt off for my anatomy test tomorrow, watch the anatomy lecture, study for my anatomy bones test next thursday, do math homework, do science homework, write my book of mormon midterm, do american foundations homework, all while finding time to eat and sleep before tomorrow. Not the best day of my life; but oh well, hopefully tomorrow will be better... just gotta keep thinking, Life is Good, and only 12 days! :)

BLAH!

So, it was about 10:30pm last night and I was totally exhausted, so I got ready for bed. I lay down for about 20 minutes, then remembered that I had to go do something. Now it's 12:18am, I'm laying in bed, when I hear a BANG BANG BANG on the door- my roommates forgot their keys. Get up, go let them in, go to go lay back down, but now I'm no longer tired. In the end I stayed awake doing homework til 3am, got up at 7:30 and went to my classes, came home, deep cleaned the front part of the appartment, and now I'm studying for tests. But although I'm exhausted, I got a package today from my mom, and Jeff comes home in 16 days... still waiting for one last letter though... oh well! maybe tomorrow! Right now, I'm about to zonk out!

Eat, Sleep, HW, Cheer, Repeat

Oh goodness! today was super fun! I spent basically the whole day with my cheer family! Last night we all went and had our pictures taken in the sand dunes, and then had a bonfire. I went even though I didn't really want to, but my great friend Christian wanted me to, so I went, and ended up having a blast! Even though it was raining (I saw nothing wrong with this-but others did), we had to push a car outta the sand, it was super fun getting to know more people in my cheer family. Then today was our first game. Our halftime performance was amazing! We only dropped one stunt. It was a blast! I don't think I've had that much fun cheering since the Camas game. We're insane, sure, we don't follow the rules half the time, but when we start cheering, something amazing happens that just makes it all work! OH! CUTEST THING EVER!!!! (even though the guy stole my idea!) Football player at half time comes off the field, has a microphone, calls down his girlfriend, introduces her to the crowd, and proposes on the 50 yard line! SOOO CUTE!!! (hint to my future husband whoever he is- do this and you'll definitely get a yes and SOO MUCH BROWNIE POINTS!!!! You don't have to play football, just do it at a fball game and you're golden!) Then after we, the bruines, won 27-14, we went to Wingers- not a bad restraunt, where our family had soooo many good times and laughs it was rediculous!

Seize the Day!

"Rain is a good thing!" Although its not "raining men" here in BYU-Idaho, it is pouring down rain with thundershowers! Its the coolest thing ever to hear the thunder roaring through everything (the gym, your apartment, the courtyard makes it sound louder than it prolly is!). I finally dont feel like a fish out of water here. Its been dry for days, but when I saw these gray clouds moving in, the ones I've grown up with for 18 years, I knew that rain was headed my way. Last night I went out and stood in it, trying to imagine myself as a spounge, soaking as much of it up as possible! Cheer was frustrating yesterday because our first game is tomorrow and our stunts just weren't hitting it; it wasnt just one person's fault, I think it was just under pressure, we were just as a team not having a very good day. Hopefully tomorrow's practice before the game goes better. We have cheer pictures today, and hopefully the rain holds off until afterwards. Stephanie has been doing my hair and makeup all morning, trying to make me look more like a girl for pictures... very odd, but she's soo giddy excited as I'm sitting here going, "Crap, what have I let her do" But, All is good in Idaho, and I plan to keep this optomistic attitude that I have come to know and love so much! I get to come home for a week and half in 41 days! Some people tell me to stop counting and to enjoy my new-found freedom at college, but why should i, I ask you? My family, home, and friends are 13 hours away. Yes I do have friends here, but I don't have my family... the thing that is eternal. I hardly get my rain, and I want to go home so I can enjoy the things that mean the most to me in life... is that really a bad thing?

Pushing forward

So, what with all the girl drama that is happening back home and with studying becoming increasingly difficult, I have decided that the battle is at a loss the way I am fighting it. After all, I am only one person; I can't do it all by myself. The advisary is out there, just waiting to add more pressure to me here at BYU-I. So with that, I apologize for my rant yesterday. I have decided to let go of the things I've been trying to deal with; I no longer care about the girl drama, and it can blow however it needs to, because I'm done dealing with it. My focus now is on my future; whether that means just getting new friends all together or what, I'm sticking to my studies and just having fun! I have applied this phylosophy to my life and already today its shown improvement. I got 100% on my Human Anatomy Test, and I am almost finished with all my homework which is due tomorrow. I plan on having an enjoyable evening with my FHE group, and having a stress free day tomorrow with classes, devotional, and cheer. Heck, I might even write a missionary! All I'm going to say is that Life is Good, if you go forward with faith in the Lord. My favorite song, "How firm a foundation" says these lines that have been playing over and over in my head these last few trying days; it says "Fear not, I am with thee; Oh be not dismayed! For I am thy God and will still give thee aid. I'll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand... The soul that on Jesus has leaned for repose. I will not I Cannot Desert to his foes. That soul, though all hell, should endeavor to shake, I'll never no never, no never forsake"

Oh Goodness Gracious!

Seriously? Seriously.. are we really in high school now? Because that's seriously what I feel like I've been tossed back into. Its absolutely rediculous! If you know me, then you should know that I am naturally "one of the guys" so yes, I hang with them. NO- I am not trying to "get up in your grill" and steal your man or whatever. Then, I don't understand "the girl rules or code" If you like someone, then you give them a chance. You can still be friends; we don't need to call people names and such. Are we seriously as childish as people say we are? All I can say is that I THANK GOD all this drama is coming out while I'm WAY OVER HERE in Idaho...

BTW: words hurt. feelings never go away when you hurt them.
