I PASSED!!!

AH!!! Today was the best day of my life!!!! It was our National Practical Board Exam for EMT. I had to be there at 730... and I didn't leave til 430pm. LONG DAY! I was soooo nervous.. I sat there studying and praying my butt off the entire day! I first was called and went to do my traction splinting. I kept thinking to myself, "You got this! You know this backwards and forwards! Jed taught you this well! Don't freak out!" After each station I would go back through that paper to see if I missed anything. Then my second to last station I was called to do medical, and I walked in to see Jed there... MAN! Why did I have to get Jed?! He was sitting there with his cute smile, hot blue eyes, in Jeans and a duck's sweatshirt... Dang he looked fine... but I did it the best I could. Trauma was my last station, with a girl that I had no clue who she was, and she seemed like a hard grader, but I did it. Then we had to wait around for another hour, and then the head person called my name, took me in a room, and said, "You took 6 stations today, and...." waited literally like what seemed like 5 minutes.... "You passed all 6- congratulations. OMG- I jumped up and down, thanking her, and then almost hugged her. I ran out screaming! Thank you God! All 23 of us in my class passed, so we went out to celebrate. Oh today is the best day ever!

EMT, nothing is better than my Trauma

OH boy!!! This weekend was sooo much fun! Like, the best time this whole semester! It was our EMT mock accident on Saturday, where we were split into teams, went to a scene where it was a middle school lunch room, where there were stabbed victims, broken femurs, asthma attacks, eye balls hanging out, and much more... it was awesome! I've never had so much adrenalin pumping through my body. I was team lead, so I was incharge of my team, which was super cool. My main patient that I was with was a "14 year old male, stabbing to the abdomen". We did everything perfect, and loaded him almost all by ourselves. I'll tell you, the Paramedic that was playing the part of the boy was double mine and my partner's size, yet with all our adrenalin pumping, we were able to move him to a back board, lift that thing to our cot, and then move him quickly down the stairs and out to our ambulance. Then I ran back, was assertive so my teacher says, and just stuck myself in with another patient as mine "went to the hospital". It was AMAZING! I know that if and when I pass my test, I will just love this job! I'm sad that this semester is almost over, because I've made so many great friends from this class. I love all 23 of my classmates, and will miss them, but hopefully we keep in touch and are able to be in future classes together! They are truly some of the greatest people I've met here at BYUI.

Happy turkey day break!!!

WOW! What a great turkey day break that was! Not only was it fun to see and hang out with friends and family, but i was also deemed the punching/sitting/jumping bag this year at thanksgiving. All the boys in my family all sat ontop of me. Lets see how long that lasts before Jennifer turns purple and passes out from lack of O2. But it was fun to see the family, and to play football with the little kids and be their pony. I cannot wait for more family fun when Christmas comes in 19 days! Soooo excited. So now im just studying my butt off for the last 2 weeks. My practical EMT test is in 12 days... so that's exciting... not really, I'm totally nervous but feel ready for it! But still I'm going to study loads!

Continuing to Love Life

So- with the countdown being only 9 days til I come home for thanksgiving break, I'm super excited as usual. Although I woke up this morning, okay it was 1051am, so basically the afternoon, and it was 3 inches of snow on the ground and still pouring. But I am keeping my head up and trying to look forward! Edward is doing fine, which I am sooo freakin grateful for! I was soo worried, even though it was trying to come up with my own diagnosis over the phone using my EMT skills. Tuesday- Wednesday I stayed up straight for 40 hours... I learned that you go through cycles when you stay up for that long. You are normal, then you get EXHAUSTED, then you get a second wind of energy, and then normal again, and it repeats this about 4 times, and then by the time 40 hours rolls around, anything and everything makes you cry, and once you hit the pillow, you are out within seconds. It was way fun to work in the ER at Madison Memorial hospital though! I loved the atmosphere there, and I would so want to do it again, but alas, I have no time, what with midterms this week and nationals coming up in 3 weeks... loads of studying to do, but I still find time to hang with my roommates and have a grand ol' time!

Happy Halloween!

Hey y'all!! I hope you guys had a great halloween! with all your candy and going around to strangers houses. I was here, in Rexburg, freezing my butt off... but no worries. I had a great time with friends, making caramel apples, watching Black Michael Jackson, and meeting great guy who is friends with my bff Kevin!!! Super cool! Overall, great night! So now, I'm waiting for next week when I'll be going to Salt Lake to my bff's wedding (I know the groom, which is weird because I never know the groom, only the bride!), and then I'll be coming home on monday the 21st for thanksgiving!!! Can't wait to see you all!!!

Hurry Hurry!!!

GAH!!! I'm soo ready to go home for a bit!!! Gracious! Rexburg is amazing, but still, wanting to see friends and family! Things are going good, the weather is great! Sunny blue skies, wind that blows a million crunchy leaves around, and its chilly--- and NO SNOW!!!!! (yet anyways). 23 days until thanksgiving break, so I'm super ready! Halloween being right around the corner, it really makes you realize just how crazy this place is! No J-walking, No trick-or-treating, No snowballs being thrown, Gracious! What kind of messed up place is this!? But Classes are going extremely well... I still love my EMT class... Now I'm just studying super hard for my national registry test on December 10th.. I know it seems far away, but it really isn't considering there is a week off school... so that means its in like 4/5 weeks! AHHHHH!!! Sooo much to study for!!!

Learning can be fun- right?

So- I've been super duper busy, with school, that I thought that I wouldn't be able to have fun times with my friends or with anyone for like ever!!! But, I learned this important lesson: Learning can be fun. I volunteered to get up at 5am (and to those who know me, I'd only do this for 2 reasons, cute boy(s) or its something I really enjoy- which there was both!) and I went to have makeup done so it looked like I had gotten run over by a car. Then, the nursing students were supposed to come, diagnose me, and save my life. Although, my teacher was right, they are idiots who don't know anything... because I died 8 times... JOY! I now am like terrified to go to the hospital just because I don't know if they'll know what to do anymore! Anyways.. it was fun. I had to lay on the freezing asphalt in 36* weather in a short sleeve shirt from 7am til 1pm freezing my... ass-phalt off... But I had 3 hot paramedics around me.. Sam, but he's married so I'm trying to get over him, Jed, who totally has a crush on me I think, and Colton who also seems to have a crush or likes to flirt with me. I swear I almost got hypothermia. Then this weekend me and my roommates all pulled our mattresses out of our rooms, and had a sleepover, which included popcorn, endless talks, watching a scary movie (the forth kind), and staying up way too late eating popcorn and being terrified. Loads of fun... though I do miss my handsome 3 men.. I must hang with them soon or I'll... dare I say it, turn into a girly girl! YUCK!!!

What a great trip!!

Oh goodness... whoever says that vacations can be relaxing is only partially right... before you leave its stressful to no end!!! So basically the car company never shipped me my card, and they told me 2 hours before we were supposed to leave for Salt Lake City that I couldnt have the car, even though I had already paid for it and everything! So I called Daddy, and he's truly the best man EVER!! Not only did he get me the car, but it cost me $60 cheaper, and I got upgraded to a nicer enterprise car. So we were off; Jason, Dallan and AJ to Salt Lake. The drive was going great, then we reached Pokey, and it started to rain... and this was like SCARY rain.. It was raining so hard that I was going 20 mph in an 80 mph road because I couldn't even see the lines on the road in front of me, and the rain was coming through the closed doors and windows and dripping on my feet. YA! So not cool!!! Salt Lake drivers aren't as bad as I always thought... they are like the same as Portland drivers. We made it to the concert, got some pictures, and then it all started. The first band was good, it was like a rock mariachi band. Very cool and interesting. Then Jason's favorite band, Caged Elephants, came on, and it was ok. I don't really get hard rock... I can scream into a microphone too- can I get millions of dollars? By this time the drunks were all there. There were 2 drunk women in front of us and they were everywhere. By the end of that act I was up to my ankles in spilled beer, I was hot and claustrophobic. Then, when the foo fighters came on and the mosh pits started, to the point where I was literally being thrown a few feet by drunk guys, and my group was everywhere and I couldn't fine them, I lost it. I left the concert, called my dad and mom crying in the car because I was having such a bad panic attack. I think my mom was having one too, because I was miles away from her or my safe home of Rexburg, and we don't really know anyone down there that we can call at like 1030 at night. But they called Elder Winkley who came and sat with me at Applebee's while the concert was going on. Then we made it to the Hullinger's house hold at like 1am, and stayed up talking to Papa Hullinger til like 230. We had breakfast with them the next morning, and left around 850am. We arrived back in Rexburg around 1220pm. Yes I did go like 90mph, but I wanted to get home. I went to classes, returned the car, then went to see Harry Potter with Jason and AJ. Overall, it was a really fun trip with my best guys! From singing in the car to Disney Music at the top of our lungs, to laughing hysterically at just the most random things. I love my boys!!! The next time that I'll be down in Salt Lake is for my bff's wedding!!! November 10th-11th baby!!!

AH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I GOT IT!!!!! I, Jennifer Mueller, get to go and work down at DisneyWorld in Orlando, Florida!!!! WAHOO!!!! One of my life dreams is being complete!!!! OMG! Right now I'm like, flying high! I'm sooo psyched!!!! I've wanted this since I was literally 5 years old!!! And now I get to go work in FLORIDA!!! I'm going to come back so baked I'll look like a gingerbread cookie!!! WAHOO!!!!! FLORIDA HERE I COME!!!

I LOVE BOYS!!!!!

Is it really so bad that I love to hang out and be with and talk with Boys more than girls? Girls there always seems to be either Drama, or they want to just share an experience similar to yours about themselves, which just leads to more talking about them. And if you have a problem, they give stories about them and never can solve your problem. Guys on the other hand, see things in a more simpler way; they never talk about themselves, but listen (most of the time), will give you two options on how to solve your problem, then you just forget about the problem because they make you laugh so hard! Guys can get you to even forget about all your worries just by taking you out for a night on the town! Tonight was one of those nights! I was sooo worried about my EMT test on Friday/Saturday because its on Anat and phys... but then, like the saviors they are, Jason (hotty), Dallan and AJ came and picked me up, got me to have the funnest night I've had in FOREVER by going to watch a movie, then trying to get me to sneak around town. BEST NIGHT EVER!!!! I love those guys! They are the coolest people and I just love spending my friday nights, and now mondays and wednesdays with them! They're so nice, sweet, caring, compassionate guys that ALWAYS can bring a smile to my face! Love you guys! Cannot WAIT for Friday! <3

So much to do, is there so little time?

Oh goodness! This week has just been super hectic... maybe its because I'm sooo stoked excited for Disney to call me on Sunday. Maybe it's because I had my first EMT test (which no one gets above a 60% and I got 70.3% on my first test, I say that's a win!), maybe its because I'm just sooo excited to be back here in Rexburg hanging out constantly with friends. Who knows! Last night I went and hung out with the guys (aka, Dallan Babb, Jason :), and AJ. It was an AWESOME night! We went and saw Zookeeper and Captain America, went and I tried these fish egg like juice things on top of Jason's icecream (interesting little things), we went into the haunted house, which was sooooo soo scary!! and illegal since it says "no trespassing", went and hung out at little ceasers, Jason taught me sorta how to ride a longboard, I just need him to hold my hands and push it, we went to the park and hung there and swung on the swings, invented a new sport called "longboard tennis baseball"... use your imagination on that one. Then went back to my place with our tricycle and watched the beginning of Phantom of the Opera. Great way to spend your Friday night! I wonder what adventures next Friday holds for all of us?! So, how I'm spending my saturday so far is in bed, I'm sooo physically drained from yesterday... so I will be doing all my homework for next week (3 chapters of objectives, 2 workbook chapters, and 2 hours of D&C homework.) Sounds easy enough, and I have to go to the store I just remembered. BUT! Dallan is supposed to be getting his mission call sometime today, so I'll be posting pictures and a video on FB later today! Tell you how my interview goes tomorrow! Love you all!

A Disney life is a Life for me!

So, because I'm so confused as to what I am doing in my life, and what I wanna do next semester, I decided that I'll put somewhat of a break on my college career right now, and so I put in my application to the DisneyWorld college Program. Its been on my bucket list since I was 5 years old to work at DisneyWorld, and I thought that now would be a perfect time in my life to do so... I'm finally eligible, my guy friends are all on missions, so I'm not getting married, I'm single, I can still take some classes down there and work towards getting my degree, and ya. So. I did it, I put in my application. Then like an hour later I get an email saying that they are interested and want me to do an online interview to see if they will become more interested. I passed that too! Now on the 25th they'll have a representative call me and talk to me over the phone!!!! I'm sooo excited! I really really want this! Who better to work at Disney than me!? Ive been raised a Disney fanatic! So, now I'm praying really hard, and just waiting in order to see if I get in or not. Which I really hope I do! Just to live in Florida would be amazing! AND- I really don't care what I get to do at Disney, Just to be working at Disney would be great enough! If I get this, I'll be there from this January til next August! That's AMAZING!!!! 8 months in DisneyWorld! What could be better I ask you?! NOTHING!

Has it really been a year already!?

Can you believe it!? Another year has come and gone! I can't believe that this time last year I was a freshman, new to the college experience, living it up with new friends in the dorms, partying and studying. Now I'm a 2nd semester sophomore, still meeting new friends, still partying with old friends, and having the time of my life here back at BYUI. Of course I'll study, no doubt about that... But I'm super excited to be back here, with the independence, with the friends I made, and with loads more fun to be had. I'm living in Avonlea apartments, about 1 minute from campus walking distance... I'm taking a 7credit EMT basics class (which is soooo cool! I get a uniform, mock trial, certified EMT Basic person and the highest level of CPR, and I get to go have a 12 hour shift at the local hospital soon!), a 2credit religion online class, and a 3 credit Wilderness first-aid class. I live with 5 girls plus me; I'm in a shared room with a girl named Nina from Germany (no she doesnt speak German, perfect english- navy brat as they say.) and all the other girls have private rooms. Today was the first day of classes, and I LOVE my schedule because I have 1 class per day! I feel this semester is going to be UNBELIEVABLY fun and AMAZING!!!

A celebration of a truly wonderful life!

So today heaven truly got a treasure, as my dearest Nanna passed away from Cancer. It was simple, sweet, and timing couldn't be more perfect since I'm about to go back to school in a week and a half. There is sadness to be felt, and Im sure that my whole family is feeling it, but then there is joy, knowing that she is no longer in pain, she's healthy, and she is finally with papa again. I heard a quote today, that said, "if you take the grief out of death, then you take the happiness out of life". I thought that was really interesting... I'm sooo grateful for the gospel and the peace it gives to one in situations like this. Just knowing that it is not forever, and that you will be with and see your loved ones again is just an amazing knowledge and comfort. Katie Barber was a truly amazing and wonderful person; she could make any dark day seem lighter. She always had something to teach you, and she was very talented. She loved all and would constantly tell you how much you personally meant to her. I saw her 2 days ago, and even though it was a brief moment when she was talking and non-comatose, I will never forget what she said to me personally. I was standing over her, smiling and said hi, and she looked up and me, and in her nanna voice and way said, "Well, boy aren't you pretty!" That was so special to me, because I was in a workout t-shirt, yoga pants with my hair just thrown up into a pony; yet she saw me as pretty as if I were dressed up ready to go meet my prince charming or something like that. I'm so glad that I got to spend most of the 6 months that she was living with us here at home with her! I know that she just loved having me home, because when I would bring my friends over and we would be talking and hanging out in the kitchen, she would just be sitting on the couch in her same spot, just listening and smiling, loving every minute of our youthful optimism. She loved asking me all about my wedding plans, and all about what I wanted for my future, and she would always tell me, "NEVER Ever let ANYONE make you settle for less; you work hard and you'll get everything you deserve and everything you want you'll get." Nanna- I miss you, I love you! And I know that you'll always be here watching out for me! Say hi and give a big ol' hug to Papa for me!

AND PEGGY JO GLEM! You take care and teach my grandma all about the church now! I'll be doing her temple work in a year, so you gots plenty of time!

WHAT A TRIP!!!!

YIPPIE!!! I FINALLY GOT OUTTA THE COUVE!!!! I just finished and got back from a week trip down to Cali, reno, vegas, Arizona, NM, Utah, Idaho Trip... And what a trip it was!!! First stop was in Cali! I got to see my dearest "roommate" Heidi Siler, whom I love and have missed very much! Then I went down to Reno where I, Jennifer Marie Mueller, Proved my daddy wrong, and that I, a girl, can throw a ball and knock 3 stacked blocks off of a table... therefore I won a guitar... Daddy, I promise that I wont waste your money in a casino! Honest to Heavens! Then we went to Vegas where we stayed in a PHENOMINAL hotel called the orleans! SOO PRETTY! I loved getting all these weird looks from people as I walked around... looks like, "um... a.) you dont look old enough to drink let alone gamble... b.) get outta here 14 year old!!!" It was awesome! Especially since it was 114*, so I sat by the pool the whole next day that we were there. Then when we were about an hour outside Vegas, we were stuck 8 cars back from an accident which 3 life flight helicopters landed on the freeway... 3 helicopters, 18 cop cars (which, honestly, they dont do anything but add to the traffic), 5 firetrucks, 3 towtrucks, and 13 ambulances... and 3 hrs and 10 minutes later, as Jennifer HAS TO PEE, we finally get through... some idiot crashed his, what probably once looked like a suburban, underneath the backside of a big trucker truck... Lesson learned here: THE BIGGER TRUCKS ALWAYS WIN!!!! DONT SCREW AROUND WITH THEM!!! Then we went down to Arizona, where I met up with my psych buddy/next door neighbor Jen.. we went and saw Harry Potter together... It was loads of fun! then we met this cool guy who was trying to get home, so we gave him money and we talked about the gospel because he had met a bishop and was having the missionaries come to him later that week... very cool. Then we went and saw Uncle John and Aunt Silvia, which was real nice to get to talk to them for a bit. Then we went down to NM, which I wanted to find my friend Elder Conor Seat, or at least his mission president, because I know that would erk him sooo bad that I saw him and not him!!! lol... And then we started the long trip home! We stopped off and visited Temple Square in Salt Lake where I went Missionary CRAZY after talking to a couple of sister missionaries for a good half hour... I bought stickers to send to my boys, ACTION FIGURES which are the COOLEST!!!! and several other nifty things! And now we're home... and Im starting to count down to when I go back to Idaho!
